Teaching Philosophy
Biography
Valentino Zucchiatti studied bassoon with maestros Voiko Cesar and Gilberto Grassi. He met maestro Vincenzo Menghini in Turin, with whom he graduated three years later with top marks and honours.
In 1984, he won the competition for principal bassoon in the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra, thus also becoming principal bassoon in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the same name. Since then, he has collaborated on all the tours, recordings, and television recordings of the prestigious orchestra. He has recorded a Vivaldi concerto as a soloist with Riccardo Muti and the Filarmonica della Scala for EMI.
In 2002, he undertook an important tour that saw him perform as a soloist at the Musikverein in Vienna and La Scala.
Formerly a teacher at the advanced courses in Riva del Garda and a regular guest at the international masterclasses in Hamamatsu, he currently teaches at the advanced courses in Cividale del Friuli and is a teacher at the annual advanced orchestral academies of La Scala in Milan and the Arturo Toscanini Foundation in Parma. He is a guest of the Association as part of the 24th edition of the International Chamber Music Festival 2022.
