Teaching Philosophy
Drawing on several years of professional performance experience as well as pedagogical experience and training, my teaching focuses on transforming the work of the practice room into confident, compelling performances. I take real pride in helping students bridge this gap, developing not only technical security, but the mental clarity and artistic understanding required for the stage.

I aim to meet each student exactly where they are, providing a clear and structured path toward improvement whilst honing in on their individuality. Because every student processes information differently, I continually adapt my approach, offering varied practice techniques, perspectives, and interpretative insights. Nothing brings me more joy than finding a learning process that equips my students with the tools they need to progress.

A central part of my teaching is cultivating deep listening and sound awareness. I encourage students to become conscious of the sound they produce and to understand how it connects to their physical approach - their touch, movement, and use of the whole arm and rest of the body. By linking intention, gesture, and sound, we can begin to make artistic choices with clarity and purpose, developing both technical freedom and expressive control.

In lessons, I focus on building strong mental representations, expanding each student’s musical toolkit, and always serving the integrity of the music. By strengthening foundational skills while introducing new ideas, my goal is to make music-making feel both natural and autonomous.
