Angelo Petraglia

Biography
Angelo Petraglia is an Italian pianist, improviser and high school philosophy teacher, born in Lodi in 1989. Improvisation has been at the core of his musical language since childhood. After graduating with honors in Philosophical Sciences in Milan, he moved to Siena to continue his musical studies at Siena Jazz and the Accademia Chigiana, attending the Permanent Musical Research Workshops for Pianists led by Stefano Battaglia (2016–2018).
His debut solo recording, Di Stanze/miniature (Crema Culture, 2021), collects fifteen short piano improvisations inspired by poetry. He also performs in an improvisation duo with percussionist Giuseppe Sardina (half asleep, Setola di Maiale, 2023) and collaborates with singer Clizia Miglianti in Visions – Homage to William Blake (Aut Records, 2024).
Since 2024 he has been collaborating with the Altalena Music Festival in Colle di Val d’Elsa in a managerial and organizational role, supporting logistics, institutional relations and local partnerships. He has also appeared as a performing pianist within the festival.
