BUILDING YOUR ARTIST PROFILE

Social Media, Storytelling & Personal Branding for Musicians
(1h)
Today, being a great musician is not always enough on its own. Young artists are also expected to communicate who they are, connect with audiences, and build visibility in an increasingly digital world.
This workshop is designed to help young musicians understand how to present themselves professionally and authentically online and beyond. Together, we will explore how social media, photography, websites, biographies and storytelling can help shape a clear and compelling artistic identity.

Rather than “selling yourself”, the goal is to learn how to communicate your artistry with confidence, clarity and integrity.

Participants will leave with practical tools to:
— build a stronger online presence
— communicate their artistic identity more clearly
— create more engaging content
— better connect with audiences, presenters and future collaborators
— understand how visibility can support a sustainable artistic career

KEY TOPICS
— Defining your artistic identity: what makes you unique as a musician?
— Creating a professional online presence across Instagram, biography, website and photography
— Using storytelling and content to connect with audiences authentically
— Understanding visibility in the music industry: agents, festivals, competitions and opportunities
— Practical communication tools to help support a sustainable artistic career
Alongside the main workshop, Anthea will offer optional one-to-one sessions throughout the residency for participants wishing to receive personalised advice on artistic positioning, communication and professional visibility.

These informal mentoring sessions may include guidance on biographies, social media presence, websites, photography, content ideas and how to better communicate one’s artistic identity and values.

“From Masterclass to Professional Visibility”
An additional closing session will also be offered at the end of the residency, focusing on how participants can continue developing their artistic profile after Altalena, building sustainable visibility, maintaining audience engagement, and creating a long-term communication strategy aligned with their artistic goals.
