OFELIA RUIZ-ALONSO
Alexander Technique, Viola
Workshop
Every time we consciously inhabit our bodies we freely share with ourselves and others the gift of presence. When we are truly present, we can notice things in a new way each time and cultivate curiosity, wholeness, and joy.
ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE
The Alexander Technique is an awareness-building practice that explores the connections between mind and body in order to experience greater ease and freedom in our movements.
As a process-oriented work, AT draws attention to our habits and invites us to experiment with alternative choices of thought and movement, to increase our sense of self-agency and general wellbeing.
As an Alexander Technique teacher, I will use verbal instruction and gentle hands-on work to guide students towards new possibilities of how they use their bodies and interact with their musical instruments.
My goal is to share the fundamental principles of the Technique as exploratory tools that the students can take and apply to their respective artistic and everyday activities.
